Herbert Kokernot House

115 East Lynwood Avenue

While not as grandiose as the same firm’s Morgan House on Alameda Circle, the Kokernot House is more accessible by virtue of its site placement. Once again Spanish Colonial Revival asserts itself as the dominant style of the 1920s in the more affluent suburban neighborhoods. Its entrance is notable for its Solomonic corkscrew columns with massive finials and scrolling.
